Memorial Dance Amethyst Company
Members of the Memorial Dance Amethyst Company won several awards at the recent Dupree Dance competition. During the weekend convention and competition in The Woodlands, girls took classes from instructors who teach dance all around the world, and also competed in a regional competition. More than 100 girls represented Memorial Dance at the competition. After rehearsing for five months, the Amethyst Company dancers competed in the jazz, tap, contemporary and hip hop categories. They received honors in all four categories, including a Diamond 2nd Overall award for their hip hop routine. Ranging in age from 9 to 11 years old, the dancers are (pictured, top row, from left) Sydney Conrad, Elizabeth Jackson, Miya Voss, Caroline Stiles, Linley Norris, Andie Armitage, Abby Barton, Abbigayle Scott, Cameron Kelley, Isabel Wallace, Marie Walsh, (bottom row, from left) JJ Robertson, Maddie Bregenzer and Ashley Sadler.
