Houston Flood Resources and Updates
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who were lost or affected by the flooding and storms this week. Please continue to use caution when driving. See updates and news on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and share your flood photos with us, too.
We have gathered a list of resources below. Please comment to add any resources, updates or information about donation links or drives.
Bellaire resident Tandy Harris started this Facebook group to serve as a place for neighbors who have been affected and displaced to share resources and support. Join and share if you need help or have information or support to provide.

Donations and drives
Options for donations include the Houston Red Cross, the Houston Food Bank, The Jewish Federation of Greater Houston, Southwest Moms and Ladies Flood Assistance Fundraiser, Gracewood, The Caroline School (donate to Easter Seals).
Kolter Elementary: Many Kolter Elementary families were affected by the floods and the school is accepting donations for new kids’ underwear and socks on Thursday and Friday. They will be holding a clothing distribution on Saturday for Kolter families who may need to replace children’s clothing. They’ll also have Kolter clothing items available. Dr. Shetzer will be opening the school on Saturday for free babysitting for anyone who needs babysitting while they work on their homes.
Longfellow Elementary: We’ve found out that a few Longfellow Elementary families who live nearby lost everything in a fire which seems to have been caused by lightning during the storm. The families are physically okay but have lost their belongings. The Longfellow PTA will be collecting and distributing donations and donations can be dropped off at Longfellow Elementary PTA office during school hours through the end of the week. The two Longfellow students are girls; one wears size 7/8 (M) and another wears size 14/16 (XL) (children's sizes). Clothing, toiletries, blankets, gift cards, etc. will be appreciated.
