Most Sundays you can find editor (and my wife) Joni Hoffman at her favorite Starbucks, where she often sees Dr. James Belli, a retired radiation oncologist, enjoying his coffee along with a good book. On one recent Sunday, James was sitting with his wife, Dr. Patricia Eifel, and said to Joni, “You really should do a story about my wife and her dollhouse.” At first Patricia, a gynecologic radiation oncologist, wasn’t so sure about that idea, but with James’ encouragement she agreed to show Joni some photos on her iPad of her dollhouse. Joni was blown away by the detailed miniatures and knew we had to get this talented Renaissance woman in the magazine. I hope you enjoy reading the story in this month’s Buzz. We think writer Cathy Gordon and photographer Michael Hart perfectly captured Patricia and her spectacular little masterpieces. Do you know another creative talent in the neighborhood?
