Amanda Janecek’s friends and family assembled “Amanda’s Army” for the ninth consecutive year to generate funds in an effort to fight cystic fibrosis. Joined by cousins from Austin, (pictured, from left) Payton and Price Janecek, along with her sister Caroline, Amanda had the support of other Memorial Drive Elementary classmates too, including Tyler Minter, Caroline Howell and Carolyn Branca. The team walked in the annual Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Great Strides event at the Lynn Eusan Park on the University of Houston campus. Over 750 walkers generated more than $800,000. Of that amount, more than $20,000 came from Amanda’s Army.
