Recently, seven birthday girls, including (pictured, from left) Annie Borski, Julianne Beasley, Kate Greenwood, Caroline Waters, Marilyn Beasley, Kenley Kieschnick and Grace Wehring, all students at Valley Oaks Elementary, celebrated their seventh birthdays in haunting fashion. The theme of their party was “Monster High;” they were scary characters who also displayed big hearts. They elected to forego presents in order to support an animal-rescue organization called K9 Angels Rescue. Through the support of their family and friends, the ghouls raised over $1,500 and made a monster-size delivery of essential items that the K9 Angels requested.
