New old face

Rita Graves

Pin Oak Middle School has a new principal with a familiar face, Rita Graves. Graves was principal of Roberts Elementary for six years and prior to that, magnet coordinator and magnet dean at Pin Oak. Earlier on, she was a first-grade teacher and reading specialist at Poe Elementary. She was born and raised in Houston and graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1988. Rita said, “I have had the pleasure of watching Pin Oak become a flagship school in Houston over the last eight years, and feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to serve the Pin Oak community once again.” Former principal Susan Monaghan has moved over to Westbury High School.
