Weiner dog race

Rachel and Terry LaWell were proud of dachsund, Moose, for winning the Texas Wiener Dog Race.

Congrats to Meyerland resident Moose LaWell, who recently won the Texas Wiener Dog Race! This 3-year-old long-haired dachshund trained hard for the race, which took place in Old Town Spring, TX. He also participated in last year’s event, in which he won one of the races, but this year, he won the grand prize.

Moose ran with a new trick up his sleeve: his dad showed him a new squeaker toy right before the race and wouldn’t let him play with it till he crossed the finish line. Moose focused hard on his brand-new toy and won the race!

Run, Moose, Run!

His family – Nikky, Terry and Rachel - were bursting with pride, along with his brother, Sampson, also a dachshund, who was cheering him on home.

Proceeds from the race are donated to Getalong Dachsund Rescue
