Winning it all
The St. Anne Catholic School varsity soccer team (pictured) won the Greater Houston Catholic Athletic Association (GHCAA) championship. The seventh and eighth graders had a 13-1 record going into the playoffs, and earned the championship title with a win against St. Francis de Sales. Twelve of the 13 winning games were won by scoring five goals, which is the maximum number allowed per game. The whole team has played together for the past two years, and most played in the United Christian Athletic League before being eligible to play for the school in sixth grade. St. Anne’s champions are (top row, from left) Daniel Ostrom, Job Trahan, Taylen Washington, Renato Castro, coach Omar Bethune, Ryan Moore, Jack Pilibosian, Paul Langemeier, William York, Carolos Copello, (front row, from left) Francis Hebert, Noah Stomberg, Austin Benevides, Kennedy Trahan, Pablo Pinilla, Jared Robinson and Marcos Soto.
