Friends from many walks of life joined Joe and Jane Elam at their home to celebrate Joe’s 85th birthday. Sixty-five plus neighbors, golfers, family, Second Baptist church friends, work friends and boyhood comrades gave toasts and told stories about former escapades. A king cake was delivered from Louisiana, and neighbors Cass and Eugene Hanson and Barbara and Ernest Svadienak brought Italian cream cakes. Joe and Jane have lived in Autumn Oaks for 40 years, and all their neighbors not only share their lives but their driveways, too.
