Luncheon kickoff

Rainy weather and a last-minute location change to another home in the River Oaks area did not dampen the numbers or the enthusiasm of the 60-plus guests who attended the kickoff for the inaugural At the Heart of Families event. The luncheon, benefitting Harris County Protective Services for Children and Adults, will be held Sept. 27 at the Junior League of Houston. The chairs for the event, including Jack Sweeney, Ellie Sweeney, Marilyn DeMontrond, George DeMontrond, Frances Dyess and John Dyess (pictured, from left), visited with the guests and encouraged them to purchase tables for the luncheon.
