A tree broke into a pool and caused the Memorial Drive Garden Club Flower Show to be moved with lightning speed to Jana Stiffel’s home, much to the relief of co-chairs Susan Diehl and Kristi Barnhill and hospitality chairs, Melanie Whatley and Suzy Godwin. Mary Hall of Royal Oaks Garden Club judged the entries in the H-Town Flower Take Over theme. The winners were Best of Show, Buffalo Bayou, Susan Diehl, Marsha Floyd and Barbara Isham; Best Depiction of Theme, Houston Zoo, by Susanna Jeu, Lisa Kline and Alice Sadeghpour; Best Use of Props, Bayou City Arts Festival by yours truly; Most Outrageous, Museum of Fine Arts, by Katy Borgan, Diane McDaniel and Jana Stiffel; and People’s Choice Award, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, by Karen Bloomfield, Julie Brann, Lisa Stephens and Risa Ziman.
