Starry nights
After camping in tents at Big Bend National Park and canoeing down the Rio Grande, Laura Lee, 23-year-old daughter Alexandra and 10-year-old son John Robert Vaio relished their night at Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa. On the spiritual side, they visited a ghost town and saw the moon and Jupiter through the lenses of mega-powered telescopes at the McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis. A jaunt to the Mexican border near Boquillas, Mexico, rewarded them with ah ha moments of steep canyon vistas rising as high as 2,600 feet and stories of Comanche Indians.
