Boogie Down Brittmore: Last-Day-of-School Splash

Boogie Down Brittmore: The Rummel Creek community and surrounding neighbors make a splash on the last day of school every year.
Every year, on the last day of school, Rummel Creek Elementary School students and families enjoy a long-standing tradition to celebrate the end of the year. The entire school lines up and down Brittmore St. in Memorial. Families and neighbors bring water coolers to get ready.
Then, the fifth graders run through the street from the school to the Plaza Oaks pool, as other students, parents and neighbors throw water balloons at them to celebrate graduation and the end of the year.

It’s been such an unforgettable tradition for at least 20 years; many adults today remember it as one of their fondest memories of Rummel Creek.
