Memorial Middle School (MMS) seventh grader Bridgette Schwank (pictured) clears a hurdle in the Spring Branch ISD district track meet. Bridgette, a newcomer to the girls track team, placed first in the 100-meter hurdles and second in the high jump at the meet. To prepare for the season, she built her own practice hurdles out of PVC pipe. In addition to the hurdles and high-jump events, Bridgette was also a member of the 400x100-meter relay team that won first place. After attending The University of Texas track and field camp in Austin this summer, she will be ready for another season at MMS.
