Publisher's Note - June 2016
This month’s issue showcases our annual Where Are They Headed? story on graduating high school seniors. These young adults started school roughly the same time as our magazine got its start. Many have appeared in The Buzz because of their interests or accomplishments – or their families’. I’m feeling a little sentimental about it all, although that may also have something to do with the fact that our youngest son, Matt, just graduated from college and is heading off to Los Angeles, just as I did (except with his cell phone), to find a career and a new life. For the first time in 18 years, Joni and I will not have a kid in any school. Also, this summer will mark my 40th high school reunion, where I’ll see familiar faces, and notice who is missing – which brings me to another story I hope you read in this issue, Cathy Gordon’s article about young Buzz residents who battle drug addiction. Just as we celebrate our high school graduates, we salute those marking other kinds of momentous undertakings – and we wish joy to them all. [email protected]
