Field of dreams

The 12U Texas Drillers (pictured) traveled to New York to play at Cooperstown Dreams Park. Many of the boys have played together for the last couple of years, and they worked hard with the goal of coming to Cooperstown to compete in the tournament. After the opening ceremonies, the Drillers joined more than 100 other teams and played two games each day. With some rain delays, the games were pushed back and the Drillers played into the early-morning hours on two different days. In their free time, the boys traded team pins, played late-night card games and enjoyed whiffle ball in the rain. The 12U Drillers are (top row, from left) Mike Hampton, Josh Witte, Evan Caulfield and Tab Tracy; (middle row, from left) Jacob McKenzie, Carson Waters, Diego Denson and Zach Witte; (bottom row, from left) coach Tony Metoyer, Logan Thomas, Lucas Todd, Jacob Cerda, Chris Wilkinson, Peter Smith and coach Mike Wood.
