Castle hopping
For their 50th anniversary, Barbara and Ken Isham enjoyed a three-week trip to Great Britain’s great cities, with a side trip to Paris. They felt like royalty as they toured the Blarney Castle in Ireland, Edinburgh Castle in Scotland, Buckingham Palace in London and Versailles in Paris. They had some family vibes at Lamport Hall, the ancestral home of the Isham family from 1560 to 1976, in Northhamptonshire, England. Sir Charles Isham is credited with introducing garden gnomes in the United Kingdom. While Ken favored beer at the Guinness brewery in Dublin and found time to “putt” around at St. Andrews golf course, Barbara’s eyes glassed over at the crystal selection at Waterford, Ireland.
