10-year-old Select Baseball team
A group of 10-year-old Select Baseball team players played in their first travel tournament, at the USSSA July Mash at the “Field of Dreams” complex in Dripping Springs. The group rented a ranch house on the Blanco River that slept all 11 boys, the two managers and nine dads who accompanied the team for the weekend. The team played two games on Saturday, winning by scores of 8-4 and 14-2. They were the No. 1 seed in the tournament going into the bracket games on Sunday. They first played the Texas Crushers and beat them 9-1 and then played the South Texas Heat in the championship game and beat them 11-4. Pictured with their first-place rings after the game are (front row, from left) Andy Fuselier, Josh Horn, Billy Theroux, Luke Jamieson, Jack Magnus, (top row, from left) Cory Hulsey (manager), Samuel Chase, John Burnett, Brady McGee, Walker Dellinger, Nicholas Carlin, Bennett Van Brunt and Ryan Suescun (manager).
