As September at The Emery/Weiner School rolls around, the community gets excited for the annual homecoming game and dance. This year’s theme was “That 70’s Homecoming,” incorporating 70’s music, fashion and energy. The dance, in particular, was where the students and faculty enjoyed great outfits (fitting the theme of course!) and food provided by the Emery/Weiner Booster Club (EBC).
The EBC has put in loads of work for the dance and couldn’t wait for Emery to see the outcome. President of EBC Orly Golub explains, “This dance has been one of the most fun dances to plan for the executive board! This past week, all the students have been so spirited and creative, and we've had so much fun getting everyone excited for the weekend. Thank you to all the students for participating in such a fun week and weekend!”
The executive board this year had more members than it ever has before, which in turn really helped the preparation for this event. Elizabeth Jarnagin, a senior who attended the dance said, “This dance was the most spirited in all of my years as a high schooler, and it was such a great last Homecoming.”
In the organization of this homecoming dance, there was a lot of preparation and hard work that it entailed. There was a movement of spaces where the dance would be held, and a change in time. In the end, both problems were resolved beautifully, and it worked out to be one of the most enjoyable dances in Emery’s history.
