Make a run for it

The City of Southside Place is starting a new neighborhood tradition. The city is having its first Southside Place Color Dash on Oct. 8. The event starts at 8 a.m. at the Southside Place City Hall and ends at the Southside Clubhouse. Runners will cover two miles around the Southside neighborhood while being showered by bystanders with colorful powder. Mindy Rippstein and JC Al-Uqdah, event organizers, together with Melissa Byers, president of the Fire Truck Park Fund, are planning the event. There are two ways to participate in the Color Dash. Register as a runner or buy colorful powder to throw at the runners. Registration is open to everyone, including non-residents. Call Mindy Rippstein at 713-443-8312 or JC Al-Uqdah at 713-594-2726.
