Fifth grader Annie Perry has played soccer for six years, coached by her dad, Jack. The father/daughter duo (pictured) teams up each fall on the Spring Branch–Memorial Sports Association’s Pink Dynamite team. Coach Perry’s team is a constant presence each year, and the lucky players who end up on his team proudly sport favorite pink jerseys. Despite his busy work schedule, Coach Perry is dedicated to his daughter and the team, and is known for his positive-feedback coaching style. He says he loves coaching his daughter because Annie gives 110 percent effort each game and is a great encourager to her teammates. Annie usually plays center defense, but also likes to spend some time on offense and score some goals. Her favorite part about having Dad for a coach? “I don’t have to bring my own ball to practice or games,” she said.
