Nerves were quaking as 30 super spellers competed in the Hunters Creek Elementary School Spelling Bee. Pictured (from left) are the second-place winner, fifth-grader Kylee Pham, and the champion, fourth-grader Natalie Jones. The bee lasted 14 tension-filled rounds before a champion was named. The winners will represent Hunters Creek Elementary at the SBISD Spelling Bee on Feb. 15. The PTA chairs who hosted a great event included Nesi Andrews, Meg Bissinger, Denise Campbell, Jenny Robertson and adviser Roberta Smiley.
