John and Maria Zerr

The invitation for the Cineball gala for Fresh Arts requested that guests come dressed as their favorite motion picture antagonist, “iconic Hollywood basket case” or Red Carpet “fail.” Pictured are John and Maria Zerr, who channeled their inner Cruella de Ville and henchman from 101 Dalmations. Besides the creative, villainous costumes, guests enjoyed music by A Fistful of Soul, live body painting, a Boomerang photo booth, caricature painting, and a red carpet and paparazzi entrance at the Silos at Sawyer Yards. Chairs were Juliana Zaraza and Joseph Horzepa, Paula Canlas and Myles McClelland, Vicky and Gordon Wight, and Ann and Richard Vaughan. Fresh Arts is a nonprofit dedicated to Houston’s art sector. See fresharts.org.

Editor’s note: The Buzz congratulates Buzz About Town columnist Annie Blaylock McQueen on the arrival of her beautiful baby Georgia. Annie took a short break to spend time with Georgia and twin toddlers Cash and Lila and will return to the Buzz About Town column in May.
