Pin Oak Middle School students took a field trip to Natural Bridge Caverns in San Antonio. They went on a guided tour of the cavern and got to drink water from a water fountain that was the actual water found in the cavern. Later, they arrived at Garner State Park, and some of the group went on a hike up Old Baldy. They listened to a presentation from one of the rangers. She talked about the geology and formation of the Hill Country and how animals had adapted to their environment. She brought fur hides, teeth and skeletons. Next, the students put on their ponchos and went on a two-hour hike with the whole group to Crystal Cave, a tiny cave down in the hill made of crystals. Science teacher Brandi Foster is pictured with students, including Angel Martinez, Rodrigo, Jason Carreon, Luis Cieza, Daniela Escamilla, Lesly Gonzalez, Luz Muoz, Jorge Patricio and Brian Spencer.
