Scout’s honor
Members of Boy Scout Troop 125, including (pictured, from left) Ryan Dittoe (of St. Pius X High School), Joshua Biegler (of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory) and Clayton Reid (of Episcopal High School) from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Biegler’s Eagle Scout project was to improve the playground at St. Andrews’ church on Buffalo Speedway. He removed a hill to free up the area and built several benches and garden barriers. Dittoe helped design and build two custom rolling book carts, each able to hold 1,000 pounds of books for Books Between Kids. Reid’s project was The Buffalo Bayou Cleanup – a project focused on teaching volunteers about the environment of the Buffalo Bayou as well as leading volunteers to clean up a five-mile stretch of the bayou. They collected over 300 pounds of trash and recycling.
