Kolter Camp
When Lindsay and Adam Cohen found out the first day of school at Kolter Elementary was being pushed back to Mon., Sept. 25 due to Hurricane Harvey, they came up with a creative solution: “Kolter Camp” at their home. Kolter students heading into kindergarten and first grade are enjoying “camp” at the Cohen home on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. until school starts. Lindsay’s friend and former coworker Julie Blumberg – a Kolter alum herself - stepped up to teach the class.
This year, due to damage after Harvey, Kolter will be relocated to the old Gordon Elementary on Bissonnet and Avenue B. It’s being called “Kolter North” and the students and faculty will be there for the 2017-18 school year. See more updates and teacher wishlists here.
