The Ladies for Literacy Guild of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation revealed a new signature initiative during the Power of Literacy Luncheon. Children in low-income neighborhoods will get books to read through a mobile library called the Curiosity Cruiser. Guild members Trish Morille and Stephanie Tsuru were recognized for their vision of the mobile library. In addition, the Curiosity Cruiser will help children build their own home libraries and provide opportunities for them to participate in reading clubs and other creative activities. The cruiser will be showcased at the Power of Literacy Luncheon on Oct. 24 at River Oaks Country Club. The luncheon will be chaired by Ginger Blanton.
