The Southwest Football League (SFL) freshman Tigers defeated the Longhorns, 27-6, in the championship game. During the regular season, the Tigers’ offense consisted of mostly outside runs. Heading into the championship game, head coach Joseph Smith took a chance on a new offensive strategy, and the boys ran the ball up the middle. The change worked well. Running back Kyle Behan (pictured, on right) scored a touchdown on the first play, and linebacker Hunter “The Hammer” Hazen (at left) had several notable tackles. The other winning first and second graders are Jake Buchholtz, Beau Smith, Roland Ortega, Timothy Davidson, Leeland El-Hakam, Jacob Spurlock, Mason Mendelovitz and Gavin Hebert.
