The 24 duchesses selected by the Knights of Momus will be presented at the Coronation Ball at Paige and Tilman Fertitta’s annual San Luis Salute on Feb. 9, and they will ride in the Knights of Momus Grand Night Parade on Feb. 10. The duchesses’ gowns were designed by Miwa Sakashita of Miwa Fashions to reflect the ball’s theme of “Galveston Island: Queen City of the Gulf.” The Knights of Momus, Galveston’s oldest Mardi Gras krewe, will present its royal court, King Frivolous CIII and his queen at the Knights of Momus Coronation Ball and reception on Feb. 3 at The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston. Michelle and Bryan Ritchey will serve as ball chairs.
