Editor's Note - February 2018
One of our stories this month, by Annie Blaylock McQueen, is about parents’ first date night since baby. I totally related. When our oldest son was born, we were clueless. We read Your Baby & Child by Penelope Leach and followed every word. One night, Andy would not stop crying. I called my dear friend, sobbing. Cindy was one of those moms who knew how to handle everything. Did we need to take him to the ER, I asked her? No, she said. You just need a break. She urged me to bring him to her house and go on a dinner date with Michael. We rushed through the meal, but, still, it absolutely revived us. This month, you’ll read so many good stories, including Cheryl Ursin’s piece about using DNA testing to research family trees, Andria Frankfort’s story about couples who met in college, and a fascinating Q&A about Houston restaurants between Buzz blogger Haley Kurisky and Chef’s Corner columnist Dai Huynh. I hope you’ll find something you relate to, too. [email protected]
