Hall of famers
The Luskey family was recently inducted into the 2018 Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. Members of the family, including (pictured, from left) Sophie Kalmin, Sharon Luskey Krost, Lorraine Luskey and Amy Luskey Kalmin attended the Induction Ceremony in Fort Worth. The family’s western store, Luskey’s, was in business in Fort Worth for almost a century. It first opened in 1919 as a dry-goods store in downtown Fort Worth. The family business was carried on from generation to generation. After running the popular store for decades, the family partnered with the Cavender family to bring it to the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District.
