The Kansas cousin connection introduced Jack Shoup and Chelsi Davis as middle schoolers. Chelsi’s cousin Cody brought Jack to the Davis/McQueeney lake house in the summers, and the rest is history. One evening when Chelsi was at her parents’ and opened the door, Jack walked in and said why he wanted to marry her. Family poured in to celebrate the engagement. They wed at Chapelwood United Methodist Church Dec. 9 and partied at the Davis home surrounded by white twinkle lights. As they danced to All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey, a confetti explosion created a priceless moment. As their parents, Greg and Laura Davis and Libby and Scot Shoup, basked in the glow, the couple left for Punta Mita, Mexico.
