The birthday Route to 66 led to Mary Maxey’s home where she and Patti Owens hosted a happy hour for their mutual March birthdays. While Mary spent her real birthday at the rodeo with 75,000 stranger-friends and Garth Brooks singing “to her,” she and Patti had a March Madness celebration for 40 friends. Light bites of ’50s food (pimento cheese, pigs in a blanket and Rice Krispie Treats) were aplenty. Seen in the patio scene were Ann Laird, Lynn Murphy, Jan Benjamin, Susan Hansen, Lynn Clayton, Kathy Hankamer, Judge Martha Hill Jamison, Faye Black and Nancy Tepichin.
