Grand Slam Party: Catalyst Houston Launch
More than 700 gathered downtown last week to celebrate the launch of Catalyst Houston, the first new apartment tower on the eastern edge of downtown in nearly a decade. Guests enjoyed striking views of the city and enjoyed the perfect spring temperatures from the expansive rooftop pool terrace. Developer Darren Sloniger, Houston Astros owner Jim Crane and Downtown District’s Bob Eury kicked off the evening with opening remarks before the festivities began.
Guests sampled drinks and bites from an array of local hotspots, including Irma’s Southwest, which is relocating to the building’s ground floor this summer, soon-to-debut Bravery Chef Hall, Hotel Alessandra’s Bardot, Local Foods, JW Marriott Houston Downtown’s Main Kitchen and 806 Lounge, Hearsay and Four Season Hotel’s Bayou & Bottle. Entertainment included aerial performers impressively gliding down from the 28th story, wine tasting with Riana Mondavi, spa scrubs from Spa by JW, Pura Vida Tequila chilled through a massive ice bottle and craft coffee cocktails from Mueva Coffee Co.
Buzz resident David Gugino was the lucky raffle winner of the evening; the raffle benefits the Astros Foundation, the official team charity of our Houston Astros. The launch party concluded with a front-row view of fireworks from nearby Minute Maid Park.
Guests included Katherine Whaley and Chris Wadley, Lisa Gochman, Mark Sullivan, Carol Alvarado, Angie Bertinot, Jeffrey Chasdon Yates, Laurette Cañizares, Brandon Weinbrenner, Scott Ziegler, Megan Pastor, James Sivco, Kaitlyn and Stewart Skloss, Christine and Brian Thorp, Shepard Ross, Roz and Alan Pactor and Robert Gallegos.
