Houston history

More than 75 guests, including Nathan Lynch, Brannon Fitch, Nathan Villarreal, Bill Forrest, Mike Chou and Eric Contreras, Alison and Chris Bell and Jo and Jim Furr gathered at Brennan’s for An Evening of Heritage, supporting The Heritage Society at Sam Houston Park. The guests listened to speakers Stephen Fox and Alex Brennan-Martin recount the history of the historic Brennan’s building as they enjoyed turtle soup, shrimp and grits, boudin-stuffed pork tenderloin and a bananas foster presentation. The Heritage Society Museum is located at 1100 Bagby Street, Sam Houston Park. It was founded in 1954 and includes 10 historically restored houses to tour (documenting Houston history from the early 1800s to the mid-1900s). See heritagesociety.org.
