Stars on stage

Dancers Eugenia Rincon and Megan McWilliams (pictured, from left) walked away with trophies from the Stage One Regional Dance competition, held at the Stafford Centre. The Frostwood Elementary School fifth graders are members of Memorial Dance Center’s Amethyst Company performance team. Both girls competed as a group, with their company, and also in specialty numbers. Eugenia’s tap solo, performed to B.E.A.T by Selena Gomez, won first overall, high score first and double platinum. Megan’s contemporary solo won third overall, high score first, costume award and double platinum. This summer the girls will audition for next year’s dance company, and then participate in Memorial Dance Center’s Summer Intensive.
