A lively crowd of 400 guests filed into the Hotel ZaZa Museum District in support of college-preparatory school Chinquapin Preparatory’s annual fundraising event, “Opportunity Rings.” Pictured (from left) are Chinquapin director Laura Henry, co-chair Patty Bowen, co-chair Emily Christy and Chinquapin development director Marilu Garza. Honorary chairs were Kathy and Bill Heinzerling and Ann Smith. The honorees were The Hamill Foundation, with president Charlie Read and grant director Tom Brown accepting the award, and also The Memory of Will Kuehn, with niece Claire Getschow accepting on behalf of his family. KPRC Local 2’s Khambrel Marshall emceed the evening. Each member of the 2018 senior class introduced themselves one by one, announcing on the microphone where they’re headed to college next year. A record-breaking $410,000 was raised for the school, which serves low-income students.
