Heavy hitters

Friends and former teammates Sam Anderson, Jackson Carrillo, Charlie Pesek and Rafe Hollingsworth (pictured, from left) reunite after games held at the Memorial Middle School fields. The four boys played baseball together every year since kindergarten, and this season are on different teams for the first time. Valley Oaks Elementary fourth graders Sam, Jackson and Rafe play for the Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association (SBMSA) 9/10 American League Astros, in a competitive season. Charlie, a fourth grader at St. Michael’s Catholic School, is a big hitter for the highly ranked SBMSA 9/10 American League Hurricanes team. All four boys dedicate many hours each week to their teams, and in addition to playing SBMSA baseball, Jackson also plays for the Spring Branch Hammers 10U tournament team.
