The annual Promise Ball Through the Looking Glass chairs Charity and John Todd and honorees Bob and Linda Brown thought they must have swallowed magic mushrooms when they heard that over $1.8 million was raised at the gala for the Houston Gulf Coast Chapter of JDRF, the leading global organization focused on Type 1 diabetes research. Bob and Linda started their own JDRF One Walk team, “I Hate Needles,” after their son, Robert, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 9. Drew Dougherty, host of Texans TV, and Andrea Bishop were the energetic emcees, and Jeff Stokes the amazing auctioneer. Some of the partiers who found the March Hare were Meredith Cocke, Regina and Kevin Jones, Michael Busby and Angie Douty, Lindsey Fridge, Lindi Messina, Brooke and Jeff Gunst and Jake and Carolyn Sabat.
