Diving in
Accomplished diver Kyle Ingersoll (pictured) placed first in the 3-meter springboard event at the Laura Wilkinson Golden Invitational, held at the Conroe Natatorium. A fourth grader at Hunters Creek Elementary, Kyle began diving less than a year ago, and has advanced quickly. After his mom, Jan, saw him teach himself all sorts of tricks off the diving boards at the Houston Racquet Club, she decided he needed some real training to learn safe, proper technique. Kyle trains with coach Bob Gunter at the University of Houston, where he is a member of the Cougar Diving Club. Looking to the future, Kyle hopes to eventually compete on the 10-meter platform, following in the footsteps of his favorite divers, Tom Daley, the British 10-meter Olympian, and Jordan Windle at The University of Texas, who is expected to compete in the next Olympics.
