Ending the season as friends
Valley Oaks Elementary friends in the classroom, and rivals on the softball field, Kacey Harvin, Kenley Kieschnick, Mercedes Bujanos and Eden White (pictured, from left) congratulated one another on a great game after their teams faced off for the final game of the regular season. The fourth graders played in the Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association 10U division and enjoyed their first season of kid-pitch softball. During the Fury vs. Venom game, the Venom team was attempting to secure first place heading into the playoffs. The Fury fought hard, but ultimately came up short. Both teams advanced to the playoffs, with the Fury competing in the silver bracket and the Venom in the gold bracket. After a fun, but long, season, the girls put away their gloves and are back to being on the same “team” as friends.
