Judy’s Mission Possible
400 guests gathered at The Houstonian hotel for the annual Judy’s Mission Possible luncheon, chaired by David Peck and his wife Michelle Phillips. Michelle’s mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer a few weeks before their wedding in 2007 and passed away from the disease in 2010. Cindy Winton, board president and honorary chair, along with host committee chairs Jill Reno Simpson and Geoffrey Simpson, applauded the funds raised of over $160,000. Speaker Susan Baker shared her personal journey as a survivor of ovarian cancer. Dr. Tyler Hillman shared the perspective of the physician and the impact the funds raised will make on research. Judy’s Mission Ovarian Cancer Foundation was inspired by Judith Liebenthal Robinson, a NASA scientist who was diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer and passed away in 2010.
