First trip to France
Claire and Dick Brooks spent two weeks soaking up the regular tourist spots, but a special art exhibit featuring Gustav Klimt wowed them for hours. The art, projected over a huge former warehouse, left a golden impression. Many art studios and former homes of Van Gogh, Cezanne, Monet, Chagall and Picasso, to name drop a few, were visited before the Chateau de Papes, where the Popes in exile lived and ruled during the 1500s. In Antibes, they partook of absinthe, which artists drank to be inspired. Although Elton John has a villa in Nice with a view of the Mediterranean Sea and Queen Victoria came there in her day, they didn’t see either one before or after the absinthe.
