Alexandra “Alex” and Casey Loyd, with daughters Emerson and Abby Loyd, and friends Tracey and Andy Hull, with daughters Caroline and Margaret, found respite from the heat in northwest Montana, Noxon, specifically. Although the Hulls visited for a week, the Loyds spent three weeks, as they also visited Bill Rosch, Alex’s dad. They stayed in the cabin he built in 1993 that borders a national forest and has a river view. Wifi is spotty and cell phone has nil service – the perfect opp to fish, hike, swim, canoe and watch the stars late at night and over a dozen bald eagles during the day. Alex’s trip trophy was a 28-inch Northern Pike fish she caught. Since the sun doesn’t go down until 11, happy hour on the front porch lasts quite a while, as they listen to the rippling river and watch the girls experience nature.
