About 10 years ago, Father Bob Wismer (pictured) started the tradition of the Blessing of the Backpacks at St. Francis Episcopal Church. Many Memorial families now include this event in the back-to-school routine every year. The event has grown to be so popular that families are given the choice of multiple services. Students were encouraged to bring backpacks to receive blessings for a positive school year.
