Mimosas and samosas

Enjoying a morning of samosa-ing and mimosa-ing are (front row, from left) Nirja Aiyer, Mary Lou Dale, Anila Shethia, Swati Narayan, Girija Shan, Archna Vajpayee, Renu Roy, Dana Cran, Arpna Dave, Usha Dhingra, Manpreet Singh and Deepi Sidhu; (back row, from left) Anu Menen, Lavannya Pandit, Rosina Connelly, Susana Sosa, Suzanne Chauvin, Tracy Calabrese, Susan d'Herbes and Kanchan Siahatgar.

Nirja Aiyer's back-to-school brunch did not disappoint. Her mom friends came for the mimosas. They stayed for the samosas.

A party highlight was the amazing smorgasbord of food including the delicious "upma," also known as Indian grits (who knew, y’all?!). Another highlight was the one brave male in the group, a cute, young bartender. However, the main "eye candy" the ladies couldn't stop drooling over was Nirja's new, professionally-organized kitchen pantry.

Samosa sisters (and real-life sisters) Nirja Aiyer and Renu Roy play “Vanna White” with the tray of samosas they assured us they could have made from scratch but didn't so they wouldn't be too tired for the party!

Some guests spotted at the event (listed in alphabetical order just like Nirja’s spices) included: Tracy Calabrese, Suzanne Chauvin, Dana Cran, Mary Lou Dale, Arpna Dave, Susan d'Herbes, Usha Dhingra, Rosina Connelly, Anu Menen, Swati Narayan, Lavannya Pandit, Renu Roy, Girija Shan, Anila Shethia, Deepi Sidhu, Kanchan Siahatgar, Manpreet Singh, Susana Sosa and Archna Vajpayee.

Cheers!
