On a hot day, the Loeffler and Petersen family’s team, "Kicking Cancer,” hosted a lemonade stand to raise money for MD Anderson. They had a Kona Ice truck, drinks, desserts and MD Anderson Boot Walk giveaways for everyone who made a donation, and they raised over $800 in two hours. Lance and Ashley Loeffler are the 2018 chairs of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Boot Walk to end cancer, a 1.2-mile walk with a party after, which will be Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. in the Medical Center; Ashley and Chris Petersen are the 2019 chairs. Last year’s event had 5,000 participants who raised more than $1 million. Register at www.mdanderson.org/bootwalk to kick out cancer.
