In the spirit of Hanukkah, Emery juniors Marisa Reichstein, Taylor Kalina, Danielle Haas, Joelle Sokoloff and Jadyn Grossman put together a gift exchange. The girls decided to make the gift exchange Hanukkah themed, so they had Hanukkah foods such as gelt and latkes.
“It was really fun, especially right after finals,” said Reichstein.
The girls all agreed that it would be best to have the gift exchange after finals as a way to relieve stress and be with friends. Before the gift exchange, the girls all chose at random who they would have to buy gifts for out of a cup full of names. After each person got their designated person, they would all have a spending limit of $30, so the gifts were made to be affordable and accessible for everyone. They also decided to wear pajamas as a way to be comfortable and have fun after a tough week of exams.
At the gift exchange, there were fun activities planned, such as games, movies and dreidel spinning competitions. Ultimately, the Hanukkah gift exchange was a great way for the girls to end the semester with their friends and relieve stress from exams.
