The Houston Children’s Charity held its 22nd annual gala at the Post Oak Hotel in Uptown Houston. Honorees were Jana and Richard Fant, for their devotion to support children in need. Jana and Richard challenged Laura Ward to call for wheelchair-van donations that would be matched by the Fant Foundation. Within moments, five vans were donated, which were then matched by Jana and Richard, for a total of 10 vans. Houston media icon Dave Ward opened the evening, which he has done for the past 22 years, and introduced emcee Gina Gaston. About 650 guests enjoyed dinner, auctions and dancing.
