Decade of discovery
Discovery Green celebrated a decade of discovery at its biennial Gala on the Green, which drew more than 400 guests who raised $1.2 million for the Discovery Green Conservancy. Guests enjoyed cocktails under the oaks, performances by silk aerialists, flamenco fusion music by Amin Safari and Robert Feliciano, and the glow of art installation GUST. Gala chairs were Zane and Brady Carruth (pictured), and emcee was KPRC 2 anchor Dominique Sachse. Videos celebrated the park and its impact over the past 10 years. The black-tie evening also recreated performance experiences, by DB Duo, Two Star Symphony, NAACH Houston, Archie Bell and The Allen Oldies Band. The night concluded with dancing to Bombón, a DJ collaboration between Houston DJs Gracie Chavez, Navó, OG Bobby Trill and Principe Q, with percussionist Ilya Janos and emcee La Comadre Mel.
